Show Me How You Burlesque
When the movie Burlesque came out with Cher and Christina Aguilera, I couldn't stop watching. I was transfixed by the music, the flawless makeup, and the glittering costumes. However, I was raised in a religious home and to me it all seemed so inappropriate and taboo. But I couldn't stop watching it!

The Feeling of Depression
Have you ever wondered what depression feels like? Not the doctor definition of emotional turmoil with manic behavior. The truth. The physical and mental torment it lashes out with. The control it has over someone's life. This is my journey. Welcome to my depression:

Hi! My Name Is: Kyrsta (Who Am I?) My Self-discovery
Hi there! I'm Kyrsta and today I am writing this to share my journey of finding and loving myself. As long as I can remember, I have felt insecure—some reasons being genetic: not pencil thin, cowlicks in my hair, sparse eye brows, and of course bad teeth that required braces. All that is enough for most young girls, but I also got to live in my sister's shadow; my sister being a 6'2" pencil thin model with cheek bones that could cut you and the perfect candid laugh/smile combo to rock any picture at any angle, any time of the day. So I guess you could say from a young age I felt invisible. Sometimes that fact was horrible and I just wanted to be noticed, but other times it was a blessing and I didn't have to face people and they didn't need to see me.

Greta Gremlin: San Diego ComicCon 2018
This year I was lucky enough to be hired for a makeup job at San Diego ComicCon. I was hired by Serena Ruiz to transform her Greta Gremlin from Gremlins 2 on Saturday of ComicCon. In order to complete this daunting task, we started from scratch creating all the prosthetics needed.

Save Your Skin w/ Glossier!
"Invest in your skin. It is going to represent you for a very long time" – Linden Tyler. Many people think that skin care routines are something very complicated, but I'm here to tell you it doesn't have to be! Your skin is one of your biggest organs, thus extremely important to take care of. Not only will it help you feel better, but will also make you look incredible and young! Drinking lots of water and a healthy skin care routine can do wonders.

Makeup Brush Guide: Cleaning Brushes
Makeup's unsung hero: Makeup brushes. What is the one thing you can't do your makeup without? BRUSHES! Yet most people admit to only have cheap, really bad quality brushes. I won't lie and say I don't have a few cheap brushes in my personal makeup bag, but brushes are where I always tell people it's okay to spend a little more. In the long run it will be a lot better to buy one more expensive brush then to have to keep buying a new cheap brush because the bristles are soft or keep falling out.

Freeze Away Fat?
My experience with Cool Sculpting for love handles: This year I have changed my lifestyle dramatically. I have started going to the gym 3 days a week, a dance class 1 day a week, sitting in the sauna 3 days a week, drinking lots more water, and eating healthier (smaller portions, more veggies, less carbs, calorie counting). Yet despite all my hard work, I could not get my love handles to go away! I saw my legs, arms, and stomach getting toned and the number on the scale going down, but my problem area (love handles) just wouldn't budge.

Dewy Summer Glow Makeup
Working as a professional makeup artist in all genres (TV, film, editorial, red carpet, etc.), I get asked to do a variety of makeups. As summer approaches, one of my favorite makeup looks to do is a simple dewy summer glow makeup. It's a beautiful, easy look that can be as natural or glammed as you would like.
