May The Fourth Be With You! And May The Empire Crumble Into Dust!
I Love Star Wars So very, very much. It's one of those where, no matter what they add to it, whether I like it or not, all these things add something indescribably important to it. The second prequel movie was my very first Star Wars film, so no matter what issues you can bring up with the prequels, I'll fight to the end for them. I didn't watch all the animated shows they added to the canon, but I know how much richness they added to the lore, and appreciated them for it.

Have You Read This Yet?: The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Marissa. . .
The last book I read in 2023, was probably my favorite book of the year. I just love reading a book where people are all happily, easily, sappily falling in love and letting their happiness grow beyond whatever expectations they had for themselves. And! And, there was no third act breakup/relationship battering event?! You earned every penny I spent Marissa!!

6 TikTok Creators Beating Back The Rot In My Soul
Maybe you think TikTok is dead because every three videos is a TokShop ad, but I think you're just weak. My English teacher told me that I needed a good hook to capture the reader's attention. I'm sorry for being mean. But it's for a good cause! I'm trying to put y'all ON to something, you see. Some good fucking food. Quality Content! Art. These TikTok creators I'm about to list out for you are either side splittingly hilarious, incredibly artistic, outrageously creative, and exactly what you need to being back a little whimsy and childish wonder into your life. Now I will say, most of these creators are focused on anime, with . . . honestly, just one that doesn't. That's CP. But if you are an anime fan, and you've been keeping up with the popular titles, you'll love them! You'll find yourself quoting these videos all throughout your day, multiple times a day, and the shots of laughter will brush back the lichen that was growing over your heart.

How Many Websites Can One (1) Freelancer Juggle?
I guess I just wasn't really sure what would happen, once I decided to focus on writing. The Stumbling, Eager Past Once I made my Vocal account on that crisp December night in 2018, I thought to myself, "Okay. Well, I need to . . . to promote this." Luckily, after creating an account, Vocal's team had put together first-time articles for first-time users, going over what Vocal was all about, and the best ways to succeed on there. One of those, was how to go about promoting your work- email lists, friends and family . . . and social media.

The Reincarnation Of A Special Grade Interest
On the edge of summer, really the cusp of fall, I spent $140 on eight manhwa volumes. Which . . . isn't even fair. The first one was "Daughter of the Emperor", at the Barnes & Noble in Coral Gables. I was there with my cousin, just strolling in because that place offered free parking for a couple of hours- more than enough time to allow me to complete my goal of hitting up that sweet little boba shop and the paleta place further down. A bathroom break was requested, and while I waited, I couldn't help but peruse. I mainly loitered by the romance section, unwilling to deep dive and give myself any room for weakness. But there was no need to fear making room for it, when weakness was in the very marrow of my bones.

Phantom Sensation
CW: Mention of genitalia, dubious consent There were three boxes left. Just three. Three . . . medium-sized . . . boxes. Just those three to unpack, and then he'd be officially unpacked and living in his new home! As he stared at the box he sat in front of, long legs tucked around it, he slowly raised the boxcutter in his hand towards the shiny tape and determined that if he had no distractions, he could totally do this.

Party Monster
In a hallway, lit cozily with sparse sconces, a few people leaning against the walls either deep in conversation, or embraces, one of its four doors opens. From it walks a beautiful man with smooth skin, dark eyes, and an unbuttoned shirt through which peaked the middle of his chest and abdomen, speckled with streaks and tiny drops of blood. From behind him, you could see in the bedroom where there still lay a couple of others who were bent over a slowly twitching body in a massive four poster bed. Blood had long since ruined the sheets. Before he closed the door, he relished in the sounds of wet sucking and a death rattle, for just a few seconds. With finality, Nico Esperanza closed the door. Taking a minute to wipe at his bloodstained lips, he readjusted his shirt and buttoned the bottom two, before walking down the hallway and out into the beating heart of his get together.

Antarctic Death Shot!
CW: Cannibalism, parasites as garnish In the unforgiving tundra of Antarctica there is little excitement one can find- especially when your job is to look at ice and frozen soil all day. However this research lab was currently buzzing with more energy than anyone had seen since the lab first opened up.

10 Facts* About Me
*Facts may or may not be told by a possibly unreliable narrator! Such is life! Honestly I always dreaded those school/work ice breakers that asked you to list 3 things about yourself like . . . what if I don't view myself as inherently interesting Drew? Huh? What if what I find interesting is in fact terribly boring, and then I become a pariah before I can even whip out my first dad joke? Well, luckily time has changed such a notion in me. Whenever I'm faced with a "new beginning" per se, and the awkward path of engaging with other humans is set before me, I like to think of this wise quote from noted Ghost Hunter and (rumored) satanic entity Shane Madej:

A Fair Cut
Happy Halloween dearest spirits from here and beyond! Welcome to my newest collection of flash stories, apparently a tradition I'm trying to cement for myself. Last year I completed a series called "The Wicked Carousel", one flash story a week at 1000 words or under. It was fun! And exhausting. So I thought I might just cool my heels in the black water pond this year, but when the wind whispers through white skeletal trees . . . you listen! So welcome to "Fright Feast", another collection that I'll be putting together as an anthology on this wondrous new community available to us. Hopefully I'll complete a story every two weeks.

I've Been Writing for Lit Mags for Nearly A Year: Here's What I've Learned
The online literary scene is a storm of chaos that would make Dionysus weep with glee. Carnage churns the landscape, equal parts ink-soaked soil and vicious jungles. The torn bodies of old works, rejected works, and lost publications litter the lands, and your hopes and dreams bid you to step right over them. Sink them further into the muck of "yester-submissions" as you forge on in armor that may be the new shining plates of optimism, or plates scorched from burnout, painted with scenes of battles and cut out passages from a tale ongoing.
