feminism
At its core, feminism is the simple conviction that women are equal to men in every regard, and should be treated as such.
An angry woman
Feelings of anger are preferably meant to be buried and dealt with alone, far away from watchful eyes especially if you happen to be a woman. It’s unbecoming, unfeminine and it will be how you will be defined forevermore should anyone experience your wrath. Why does society condemn anger in women? We applaud men who stand up for themselves and call them masculine but shudder when a woman has finally had enough, calling them names from ‘bitch’ to ‘shrill’ and ‘difficult’.
Why I should be Proud as a woman (and feminist)?
It's March 2022. And of course, it's Women's History Month. On the 8th, it was International Women's Day. We celebrate to all women including our mentors, our heroes, our favorite actresses, and our favorite authors. For me, Growing up as a little girl to a grown woman has not been very easy. I mean never, ever been easy. It's the same thing to other women who felt the same way during their lifetime, including our health(physically, verbally, emotionally, socially, and sexually).

In continuation with my last story, this was another question out of the 6 asked in my examination which I answered: Emma Watson asks “Why is the word (feminism) such an uncomfortable one?” Your college magazine has asked you to interview your classmates to find out why they are uncomfortable with the word feminism. Write an interview with some of your classmates, both men and women.

Yesterday sitting on my study table, it suddenly clicked me that in the first semester of my college, I wrote some answers to questions on feminism in my examination. For me, those answers were one of the best pieces of my creativity. I was so elated after writing those answers that I told all my family members, my friends, even my neighbors about them :)

Now that the police investigation has been completed, the Crown Prosecution Service has my case. They have had it since 1st February. I have no idea how long it will take to decide whether or not there is enough evidence to prosecute or not. A part of me wishes I knew when to expect an answer, but I know myself well enough to understand having that knowledge could take me to a very dark place.
My body isn't mine
Since I was young, people have told me that my decisions and feelings are irrelevant. In the end, I don’t have a choice. A horrible puppeteer lies in wait within my body, as it does within every woman. Any day now, the beast will wiggle its arms into mine, step its feet so its pace matches mine, and force my mouth into a smile. My body wouldn’t belong to me anymore. At a certain age, the monster steals my freedom of choice and forces the idea of children into a positive light. With the puppeteer come parasites living in the folds of my brain. They will take over subtly, so insidiously, not even I will notice how I’ve been manipulated.
Eloise RobertsonPublished 2 years ago in VivaIs International Women’s Day Even Worth Celebrating?
Annually, March 8th is a day to honour female leaders, humanitarians, academics, innovators, ceiling glass breakers and other heroines. I’m not certain what I should be celebrating this year other than friendship and love amongst women. I’ve taken that for granted for too long, and always tended to pitch my intimate relationships, and familial relationships above my friendships.

You’re not alone if you haven’t heard of International Women’s Day (IWD). Many people, especially women, aren’t even aware that it exists, let alone know what it means and why it’s important to remember every year on March 8. IWD is an annual celebration recognizing the contributions of women throughout history and across the globe to society — and it’s essential to remember this day each year, both in our personal lives and in our businesses, because there are so many ways that women make things better in the world.

The universe speaks loudly when you’re looking for the signs and even louder when you’re trying to ignore them. (ooooh that was niiice ;).. Galileo who ??) But the universe really is relentless when aligning you with your highest self. And part of my journey in self discovery & self growth is healing from the past. For the longest time I've felt the universe calling me to share my story and for just as long, I've rejected it. But the more I try to run from it, the more I have this overwhelming feeling that I'm going in the wrong direction.
World Women's Day March 8, International Women's Day
Today is World Women's Day. To protect the rights of all women in the world, the United Nations declared March 8, 1975, as International Women's Day and called on all nations of the world to observe it properly. Every year March 8 is celebrated all over the world with a unique feature. In some countries, the day is also celebrated as a public holiday. Such as Russia, Cuba, Vietnam, Ukraine, and several other countries. In many countries, including China, Macedonia, Nepal, and Madagascar, only women enjoy public holidays on this day. Although neither of these two systems exists in Bangladesh; however, the day is being celebrated in rallies, seminars, symposiums.

The first time I ran a focus group for survivors of domestic abuse, I remember one young woman, her baby in her arms, saying, “I’ve not had it that bad. Some of the women here have been really badly treated.” There was a pause. “I mean, I’ve been in hospital twice, but it’s not been that bad.”

The above post cropped up in my Facebook memories and is something I will always re-share when I see it. I feel it carries a succinctness that eludes me in my writing and it has the sharpness of the barbed wire messages instilled in women from the beginning. Virginity is both something considered pure, something that you should give away , something the age you first got laid being competitive and something to be judged on if it happens in later life or even not at all.
