Lady Business, Aunt Flo, Time of the month and mother nature. These are just some names many women around the world use to refer to their periods. In a time where women are empowered and encouraged to fight for gender equality there are still some part in the world where women are punished and shunned away from the society during their menstrual cycle.
Ruchitra SinghPublished 3 years ago in VivaWhat I really think about religion
I have been trying to pursue an earnest relationship with God as much as possible these last 17 years. I even went on a missions trip to China in 2004. But these last 7 years or so, I haven't been able to shake off the feeling that something is amiss. Let me share a little bit of what I've been wrestling with.

5 Things No One Told You About Self-Care
To say that I am Type A would be an understatement. I eat, sleep, live, and breathe exceptionalism. If I’m going to do something, I should do it right. Right?

When I graduated from Stanford University, I was equipped with feminist theories from renowned feminists and allies such as Audre Lorde, Belle Hooks and Adrienne Rich. Never was I prepared for the real world - the real world where women's rights issues and deeply entrenched structural injustices clash, targeting vulnerable women like myself because of our identities.
Sleeping Beauty
Babe, hey I want to do it. I am not in the mood. I am tired. You don't have to do anything, just lay there. No. I don't want to. I just showered. I want to sleep. Maybe tomorrow.
Rebecca (Beck)Published 3 years ago in VivaI am not a Victim but like #MeToo
If you were to ask me ten years ago to write my story, sorry no. If you were to ask me to write about the trauma I had went through as a maturing pre-teen, I would have told you to shit bricks,.. oops is that language even allowed here? Apologies. In my defense ten years ago, I was fifteen years young, filled with anger and trauma. I've honestly had this tab sitting open. Not knowing where to start. As you can tell by my picture, it's 2 a.m. A normal person would be sleeping at this time. Here I am rambling about things that don't really matter, so I will get started, the first time it happened.

Time for Female Travelers to Ditch Tampons
Being a female traveler has its own obstacles, one of which is dealing with the menstrual cycle. Whether it's a twenty-hour bus ride through South America or a stay in a hotel in Melbourne when the flow hits you, no lady enjoys the thought of her favorite khaki trousers being ruined by the crimson wave.
Is your Time of the month trying to cramp your look?
All right, it's not a topic that most women will feel comfortable talking about. The time of the month may be a dreaded affair, but let's face it ladies. In addition to mood swings and lethargy, there is also bloating and cramping that can often be intensely difficult to deal with. All of these inherently affect our lifestyle, from being sedentary and not working out to being careful about what to wear to contain our discomfort.
Brands worldPublished 3 years ago in VivaDear Women Who are “Too Loud” and “Too Much”
So, here is some Gender Studies 101. Throughout the history of the world, the majority of cultures around the world treated women as second class citizens. The woman’s purpose was in the home and caring for the children. All women should know these skills, the 3 C’s, cook, clean, care for children. A woman should also be submissive and quiet. The saying goes “A good wife is a quiet one.” Women should not have an opinion about politics, jobs, money, leadership, property, etc… A woman’s role was to know how to be attractive, household skills, a good wife, and a good mother.
