(A)Sexual Perspective: "The Blood is the Life"
On November 13, 2020, the rock band Palaye Royale released a music video for their song, “Tonight Is the Night I Die.” In the video, the members of the band are vampires who attend a ball in 1853 per the title card. They feed on the unsuspecting female guests, stalking them throughout the mansion. Towards the end, the lead singer Remington Leith is dragged outside by vampire hunters and staked while the other members escape. The video’s cinematography and gore are pretty impressive and the storyline is easy to follow.

(A)Sexual Perspective: Alone But Not Lonely
In the midst of the COVID-19 lockdowns, I rewatched Hulu’s Four Weddings and a Funeral. I was in the mood for something that would put a smile on my face. Based on the 1994 film written and directed by Richard Curtis, this 10-episode series was modernized by writer/actress Mindy Kaling. Kaling wanted to revolutionize romantic comedies. She wanted to show her love for them by adding substance and diversity. Her love letter succeeded. The show follows four American friends living in London where they deal with career and romantic obstacles. A delightful reinvention, it elevated the stagnant status quo of rom-coms but still keep the tropes we know and love. Every single character had hopes, dreams, and fears. Full of classic one-liners and zings Kaling is known for, the series is definitely worth a watch.

The Perfect Planner for Your Type - Which One Are You?
You see them in droves every December and June. Crisp, unopened planners waiting for you to fill their pages with your to-do lists and goals. You love a clean, new planner. It presents new opportunities. A clean slate. But you come to find that you’re not using it as you want to.

How I Started Running in My 30s and You Can Too!
I know I’m not alone here when I say running has never been my favorite form of exercise. The last time I tried running I was in my early 20s. I was doing Shaun T’s at-home workout videos — which I love and still continue to do — but I wanted to get outside more. I didn’t own a bike so running seemed the only logical option.

Plain Jane: A Classic Revisited
We all have that one book. The one we covet. Hold to our chests like a protective shield. Usually, it is the one filled with highlighted passages, dog-eared pages, or post-it notes stuck in what looks to others as random placement. But you know the truth. Those singled out pages contain words of wisdom and quotes you can probably recite from memory. They speak to you in your hour of need. You recite them to friends and family who need a boost of confidence, a reminder that life is messy, but will always offer some shine to those who seek it. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë is that book of choice for me. A personal favorite, it continues to touch me with its language and themes of independence as well as Jane's search for family and love.
