A Friend In Need
My best friend and I met in our freshmen year of high school. For simplicity, lets call him Julian. It's been a mere 7 years since we first met. Julian was there when I felt I had no one. I was there when the world was against him. He was there when I no longer wanted to exist. I was there for his transformation from female to male. It was us against the world. Never have I ever had a friend like him.

A Pure Light
So many people at this party ... so many people and it bothers me, but I don't care. There are people dancing to the beat of the music, the beautiful lights moving along with the beats of the music, so much corruption in peoples hearts as they dance and kiss through the night.

Fascination of Horror
Growing up, I always had this love for the horror genre. I've watched movies like The Evil Dead, IT (1990), Friday the 13th, and A Nightmare on Elm Street; and played games like Resident Evil, Until Dawn, Outlast, The Evil Within, and Dead Space (many of these are franchises). Horror will always have a place in my heart because of the many beautys it has. It might seem a bit taboo that I see horror movies as beautiful because it's suppose to be the exact opposite of beautiful, but I digress. Overall, the horror genre might seem a bit stale but just read long enough and I might convince you that there are more to horror movies than blood and guts.

A Funny Title for a Depressing Story
I was born in October 6, 1999 and raised in Long Beach, California. I've lived a moderate life with a few ups and downs and had a great family who loved me. I may have been loved, but I was isolated, put down by my ex-step-father, and humiliated by classmates. The reason I bring all of this up is because it left a metal and emotional scar that I have to carry. I am now 18 and to this day I still carry this burden that was laid upon me.On July 1, 2018, I came to New Braunfels, Texas to visit my family for the summer; but I also came to Texas to get away from everything that I deal with everyday back in Long Beach. It's not that I dislike my family and friends; it's just that it's too much to handle.

Let's Talk About It: Race
We often do not agree with each other on most issues and topics today and it’s no exception when it comes to how each of us perceives race. The importance of how we perceive race within schools is something we must explore deeper. Through the years, humans have been debating whether race matters or not. Meaning, some people will look at race as an important aspect to look at when it comes to how race affects people’s lives. Race is a way to represent each other’s culture and shows representation of a group or community for students within schools. As we look at each segment of how we perceive race, try to gain an understanding of how each person’s experience can affect what they believe in when it comes to race within American schools.

Lets Talk About That: Body Image
There was a girl name Sheryl and she was the brightest in her class. She was reading books and solving problems like no other student had. The only problem was her brother. Her parents weren’t around much, so they never really influenced her in a important way but her brother was always around. What he would do is just make little comments about her that would hurt her feelings. He would say stuff about how ugly she was and how fat she was, even though she was not obese at all. One day, Sheryl’s brother once again called her ugly and fat, but this time Sheryl did one thing that will follow her though the years. Sheryl looked in the mirror, checking her appearance.

Criminal Justice System: Better or Worse
When I think of our criminal justice system, I think about the children our law-enforcement puts down. I think about Eric Garner who was suffocating and practically begged to get a gasp of air. Or about the time when a man was shot right next to his girlfriend because of a broken taillight. “Stay with me. We got busted because of a busted taillight in the back,” she said while the man was bleeding to death with the officer pointing his gun at him.

A Hero's Journey
The hero’s journey is a structure where a story is told in a perspective of a single hero. There have been a few interpretations of the hero's journey but I’ll be focusing on Joseph Campbell’s simple 12 stages of the hero’s journey. I'll be using the original Star Wars as an example. The hero that will be used is named Luke Skywalker.
