To the Funny Women That Shaped My Life
One of my earliest memories is watching tv with my grandma, who I used to call Tata. In Spain late 1990s, my little household's tv repertoire consisted of whatever was available in the small variety of channels we had at the time. I remember watching El Chavo del 8, a Mexican sitcom from the 70s that they show and my grandparents put on tv because it was what they were showing at the time. I also remember Lina Morgan, a Spanish actress, and the old films they show most afternoons. You see, quirky characters filled my then developing brain, and my love for comedy began.

Thank You, Stephanie Beatriz
As I'm starting to write this, it's already past midnight for a couple of minutes. Browsing on the Internet, I found two recentinterviews (that you all should read) with Stephanie Beatriz, from Brooklyn Nine-Nine, where she talks about her sexuality.

LGBTQ+ Films to Watch This Pride Month
June is Pride Month, declared as a result of the Stonewall Riots back in 1969, New York City, when a group of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual people (don't forget names such as Marsha P. Johnson, Sylvia Rivera, Raymond Castro, Storme Delarverie or Miss Major Griffin-Gracy) protested and rioted against police brutality towards the community.

Farewell, 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine'
Yesterday, May 10th, Fox confirmed the cancellation of some of its shows, including The Mick, The Last Man on Earth (after that cliffhanger, can you believe it?), and much to my dismay, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, the Paris of sitcoms, you know?

Can We Have a 'What We Do in the Shadows' but With Every Mythological Creature?
As of recently, FX confirmed a 10-episode TV series adaptation about the acclaimed Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement's What We Do in the Shadows (2014), and both of them are working on a spin-off of the movie called We're Wolves. The horror comedy focused on the lives of a group of vampires that live in Wellington, New Zealand, recorded as a mockumentary. So, think of The Office but with vampires, which is the best concept possible. If they approached vampires, and now wolves, it raises the question: why not every single creature possible? To take a myth or creature, add comedy and an unusual setting for them, and somehow make it work. As a contribution, here are some of the endless possibilities I've thought about.

I Spent a Month Watching Women-Directed Movies and Here's What I Learned
I don't know what came to me when I decided to do it. Perhaps it was after I learned that only five women (all white, by the way) have been nominated for best director in 90 editions of the Oscars (yeah, yeah, awards mean nothing, but cut me some slack). Maybe I was excited about A Wrinkle in Time. Maybe I have a lot of free time (it's probably this). But whatever it was, I decided that I was going to spend March watching only female-directed, written, and/or starring movies (jackpot if it's the three). And after watching them, I came to the conclusion that there's a lack of representation from the media and the industry, which is no shocker. We can easily name ten male directors. Women directors? Until this past month, I hardly could...

The Importance of Meg Murry
It was not a dark and stormy night. At least I don't think it was. It was summer when I first learn about the story of a girl that reached beyond herself, beyond time and space, in order to save her father. The story did not resonate much at first. It seemed a cute movie about a girl in an adventure, although I have to admit, I managed to tear up with the trailer every time I watched it. But I love Ava DuVernay, the director, and the actors in it, so I decided to watch it.
