Beauty Self-Esteem

It is a well-known fact that each individual has self-esteem. One of the key things in life which help us make better choices and which give us the courage to be our own true selves is having healthy self-esteem. On the flip side, low self-esteem can be damaging to one's mental health, and it may hold the person back from moving forward in life. As a matter of fact, most people admit that the number one thing which causes their low self-esteem is being unhappy with how they look. Luckily, there are clever ways to start feeling better in your own skin. So, here are five ways to raise your beauty self-esteem.

1. Flaunt your best assets.

Frequently, women can be extremely self-critical. Unfortunately, many women, especially young girls dwell on the constant negatives such as brittle hair or acne-prone skin and forget the positives. The very first tip to raise your beauty self-esteem is to stand in front of a mirror and get a good look at yourself. Notice all of your features up close and make a mental list about the things that you find appealing on your body. For example, you might like the colour of your eyes or the shape of your lips. Most importantly, start being aware of all your positive assets and forget about the things that you see as "flaws." After identifying your best features, find ways to accentuate them and make the most of the positive assets. For instance, people usually say that the eyes are the window to the soul. Blue eyed girls can easily play around with warm shades of eye shadow such as coral, whilst hazel eyed ladies look stunning in any shade. Have you got a tiny waist? If so, then show it off with the use of a fashionable belt!

2. Use positive affirmations.

Experts believe that by using positive affirmations daily, we are able to build up a strong self-belief in our subconscious mind. People claim that the so-called "Law of Attraction" (according to which the quality of your thoughts and feelings shape your reality) helped them change their lives for the better. So, what do positive affirmations have to do with raising your self-esteem? By practising self-love and only telling nice things to yourself, you can help ward off a bad mood on a terrible hair day. Also, try staying away from negative emotions, like anger or sadness, which will only drain your energy!

3. Focus on personal hygiene.

Practising proper body hygiene not only helps against all kinds of illnesses, but it also makes you feel good about yourself and your appearance. Firstly, showering or bathing every day (some research shows that it is better to shower every other day) is a must to get rid of the bad bacteria feeding on the sweat and dead skin cells. Try using a mild soap or a quality gel to scrub off all the dirt that may have accumulated throughout the day. Of course, it is best to shower right after leaving for work in the morning to get the day started off right, and especially after a sweat-session in the gym. Also, maintaining proper oral hygiene is a must to feel and look good. Brush and floss at least twice a day, or better yet, after every meal. When choosing toothpaste, go for a product which has fluoride listed in the ingredients. Fluoride is excellent to fight off bacteria which might cause gingivitis and other illnesses. Companies such as Caredent offer a wide array of dental care products with added fluoride. Also, consider purchasing an innovative tongue scraper to further remove all the bacteria from the surface of the tongue.

4. Put on a pair of heels.

Did you know that historically speaking, women began wearing heels to be tall like men? Even though wearing high heels on a daily basis would be unrealistic and uncomfortable, sometimes putting on a pair of sexy heels is all you need to get a quick confidence boost. Whether you are a petite woman who wants a bit of height or someone wishing for that slim physique look, high heels have you covered. Also, a fashionable pair of heels will make your calves tighten as you work, thus you will get in a nice leg work out as you strut. Sounds like a win-win situation!

5. Experiment with clothes.

Fashionistas swear by the statement "dress for the job you want, not the job you have", and it is certainly the case. In simple terms, if confidence is what you are lacking, then try adjusting your wardrobe. Also, try picking out outfits which flatter your body type. As a matter of fact, a lot of women do not know how to dress properly to accentuate their curves. Do some research and find out what looks best on you! If something feels too tight on your body and it is making you uncomfortable then do not hesitate and get a larger size. Above all, remember that the key to confidence is to remain true to yourself and appreciate your unique style.

In summary, it is difficult to remain confident, when there is an inner critic telling you that you are not physically attractive. So, try applying some of these tips and see yourself glowing with self-confidence!
