Using Them for the First Time...

Day One: Using it for the first time it felt really weird. But, after about an hour or two it started to feel really comfortable and I could not feel anything just sitting down there. My main concerns is:

How long can I keep these on?

How many pads will I go through in one day?

How will it be to ride with them on for the first time?

I will touch all this on day two. It will be around 24 hours for me, but just a paragraph for you.

Day Two: Everything went well last night. For me my first three to four nights are really heavy, so I have heavy flow night pads and it held up and collected a lot. Yesterday with having my period only for half a day I only used two day pads, which probably could have been one, but I got so used to the amount of pads I go through with disposable that I thought that it was the same, and one heavy flow night pad. I was so concerned that maybe it would bleed through, but after wearing them for almost 24 hours I am not as concerned. I still have not ridden with them yet, so the main concern with that is will the blood stay on the pad while I ride or will it go everywhere since there is no adhesive keeping the pad in place?

Well riding went really well, I kinda forgot that I was even on my period while riding, which that does not happen with a disposable one. Next is workouts for the team, which is between 45 minutes and an hour. So, hopefully they will not let me down.

Day Three: Workouts went wonderful, and no leakage whatsoever. Yesterday I went through two day pads and one night pad. Yet, my emotions was the thing that got me and not the pads. By now I have gotten into a rhythm of everything now, and they are starting to feel really nice to wear as well.

Day Four: So, I believe with my flow I can get away with only using two day pads a day and one night pad for the night. They are working amazing for me. But, keep in mind if you are basing my experience and expecting it to be yours as well, do not because the thing is tampons and pads that are disposable, or even a diva cup or period underwear might be a better fit for you. When going to try this you do have to keep in mind that the only reason that I wanted to try these was to save money as I am a broke college student that needs to pay tuition, groceries, and all the other expenses by myself, as my parents are unable to do so. I have also found that putting them on the floor while washing my face and putting shampoo in my hair allows them to soak in water while also allowing them to drain. Last night, I also washed them for the first time. Be sure to wash them in the laundry with your darks, as if you put them with any other color then the leftover blood that you were unable to get in the first place will stain your clothes. And, out of the eight to ten pads that I put in there I believe only one came out with a small stain that is barely noticeable.

Day Five: Today, we had to pack up everything and clean stalls for our only home show for the weekend. So much heat, and so much sweat. I am really surprised that I did not chafe at all and did not get a heat rash.

Day Six: Had to clean stalls, and got to ride two different horses and nothing bad happened. Sorry, that these day descriptions are getting so short, I have so much going on with the equestrian team that I can barely keep up with everything.

Day Seven: Today is show day, so I will be busy all day long. Anyways, today went really well. Last day of my period, and no major problems. Even with not having much blood or much of anything, there was no overheating or anything. Yeah!

Results: At the end of all this, I have decided that I will most likely use these for awhile at least. It saves money, and I use a lot less pads. As well as, I did not have any major overheating, which is a major problem with disposable pads. And, there was no chafing. These are a victory for women!
